Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Material Handling Equipment Procurement: Collaborate with project teams to identify and source the necessary material handling equipment required for projects. Ensure that the equipment meets quality standards, delivery timelines, and budgetary constraints.
  • Plant Procurement: Manage the procurement of plant machinery and equipment vital for project execution. Work closely with suppliers to negotiate terms, quality specifications, and delivery schedules while optimizing costs.
  • Sub-Contracting: Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors and suppliers for various project requirements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, ensuring their capabilities align with project needs.
  • Machining Procurement: Oversee the sourcing of machining services, including CNC machining, fabrication, and other manufacturing processes, to support project requirements. Monitor the quality of machined components and adherence to project schedules.
  • Project-Based Industry Expertise: Leverage your experience in project-based industries to anticipate procurement needs, align strategies with project lifecycles, and proactively address potential challenges.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering techniques to optimize procurement costs without compromising quality and project objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring timely delivery, quality control, and adherence to contractual obligations. Resolve any issues that may arise during the procurement process.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier performance evaluations.
Skill sets/Additional requirements:
Must Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BE Mech).
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in procurement within project-based industries, with a focus on material handling equipment, plant procurement, sub-contracting, and machining.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable terms and prices from suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Knowledge of project management principles.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
